This is why the US has fairly loose gun laws. Historically governments in the US were quite tolerant of vigilante violence against opposition to laws and social norms, such as racism and misogyny. It allowed the government and police to technically keep their hands clean while letting others do the dirty work. On occassion they would arrest and charge a few of them, but by and large most of them went unpunished. With mass shooters they will of course never see the light of day again (if arrested) but in secret they will love their actions.

Trump signs an executive order and the Supreme Court says it’s constitutional under the 87th amendment or whatever.

These people aren’t going to murder a fly.

This guy is still concerned about legality, he’s never cut the head off a chicken or field dressed a deer. They’ve never taken life. They’re LARPing

It’s not enough to win. It’s not enough that they’ve terrorized everyone for nearly ten years (in their current iteration). Now we have to pay for not wanting to be terrorized.

I am so sick of not being represented by my government in the slightest. Now the government actively wants me dead. Wild. Founding fathers had a revolution for less. Of course the UK didn’t have drones and nukes in the 1700s.

Hell we should know how crazy these people are. They wanted to destroy the country when we suggested that maybe owning other people and subjecting them to brutal labor conditions was maybe slightly immoral? Just a tad? Like could you guys cut that shit out? And they’ve held that grudge for 140 years.

I’m so glad all I ever did in politics is build some homeless shelters a few decades ago. Shouldn’t be enough to get me noticed.

      It’s alright, it’s been prefaced.

They want to do violent stupid things legally. But because Trump is in charge, I guess all violent stupid things are legal now.

Remember a few years back when we’d have a running gag of saying something violently over the top and adding “in Minecraft” to the end? Some dude on 4chan got arrested for doing that with death threats, and yet for years I’ve been hearing other people, guys with actual political power and platforms, muttering “politically” after way worse shit. It’s a good thing whenever anyone acts on anything it’s a false flag, it’d suck if they ever had to face any consequences.

It goes the other way for them too. If they think it’s moral then it doesn’t matter what the law says, they believe they are justified in doing it.

Trump just has to say, “…as an official act”, then he’s a-OK to go with whatever, however unconstitutional it may be.
