  • Government funding can answer all those questions if the will is there. The free market will not fix climate change without heavy intervention.

As per your example, there is nothing physically preventing a battery powered tractor or combine. A government could put out subsidies for manufacturers building these vehicles, the government could then subsidise farmers buying them, and perhaps remove existing subsidy on farmers refusing to decommission their older equipment.

The literal only things where there’s not a money related solution to today is long range air travel, and some very specific industrial processes that require specific plastic polymers. Literally everything else has an alternative that can be either used immediately or built relatively quickly, if we decide to spend the money.

  • Has it been much of a problem? I wouldn’t say I’ve personally seen many at all, at least not enough to consider it an issue anyway. Personally I’d be against such a restriction unless it was dominating all discussion on the community and crowding out other discussion.

I think with political literacy generally being pretty low in the majority of people and the impending American election, there will be people that feel like they have “stupid” questions, and they might not feel comfortable asking in one of the more general politics communities. It does no good to keep people in the dark, especially about politics which pretty much affects everything.

Then the mods would have the messy job of determining what constitutes “political” topics, where no one will draw the same lines as another. What is a fact of life for one person might be an incredibly political topic for another.

  • The Z890 Taichi Aqua has two USB4 Type-C/Thunderbolt 4 ports, four USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-C ports, and four USB 3.2 Gen1 Type-C ports. It also has provision for two USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 Type-C ports up front, bringing the total number of USB-C ports to 12. And while you might be forgiven for thinking that it’s sacrificing USB-A ports, the Taichi Aqua still supports four USB 3.2 Gen1 Type-A and four USB 2.0 ports on the front I/O. This gives you a total of 20 USB ports, allowing you to connect as many USB devices as you want to your PC.

I’d bet the thunderbolt ports are individual and then the subsequent ones are hubs per generation
