Dude sprang for the WaveBird and what I assume is delivery pizza, how many more luxuries should he have?

That looks like a Little Caesars box, so definitely the low end of to-go pizza.

Also, he took the time to decorate with the Konga drums, so its totally luxurious!

Man, I wish my life were that simple again.

That looks so fucking relaxing, like I have nothing to do for the rest of the evening, and no pressing concerns as I sip my chocolate milk.

Only thing I would change: out that TV on a milk crate so your neck isnt strained even more than it is from sitting on the floor.

But when we were young and had set ups like this we also had invincible bodies.

Or rather, what felt at the time to be invincible bodies. Now I’m at the part of life where the bill for that comes due.

That was exactly my setup when I struck out on my own.

GameCube, wavebird, bongos, Twilight Princess. PS2, Guitar Hero, mod chip, case full of burned games. Single twin size mattress on the floor.

Those were the best days of my life.

I had two DVDs. Napoleon Dynamite and Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back.

No internet, no telephone. I wanted to be creative and I didn’t want distractions. I wrote most of my songs in that little window.

Screw it. I never share my music. Here’s one of the songs I recorded.

I really do appreciate your comment. You put this stuff together and think it won’t ever be heard, so it feels good when someone likes it.

Yeah I do. Not as much as I did then. I really appreciate the comment.

I did do all the parts, but I had originally recorded the drums on an old cheap Yamaha electric pad thing. I met someone online years ago who remastered the recording and redid the drums.

I’ve shared my music like 3 times in the last decade. I mostly just do it for me and for my people when I kick the bucket, in case they want it. I know my son does. He wants everything, even all of the hours and hours of recordings where I was trying to come up with something.

I’m really glad you like it. I’ll share a few more.

I think I’ll do that tonight. I haven’t posted my stuff seriously since 2010ish.

I made videos and everything but I lost them all.

Heck my mom saved two but they’re not in the quality I put them in. My ex called her and said I was deleting them so she rushed to save what she could and got those.

I was in a very bad place back then. Actually ended up being diagnosed with cannabis induced psychosis by the time it was all over.

Here are those two. I don’t care for the one where I did the ghostly images. The song could have been good but it was too long.

Thank you guys for taking interest in this stuff. I might let my brother put it all on Spotify haha. He’s been trying to get me to for a while.

Get the royalties stuff figured out and put it on Spotify. I’d love to add these to my playlist there.

Just coming to add a +1 on the YouTube links, I don’t download random files from mega, but I’ll listen to anything you have on YT, Spotify, or any FOSS counterparts.

Those YT links you’ve posted already sound great! This definitely would have been my exact vibe in 2010, but it’s definitely going into the car Playlist now.

Don’t be afraid of longer songs, if they’ve got focus and purpose, they’ll hold up. One of my favorite songs back in the day was 22 minutes and 20ish seconds long. Unfortunately it’s a religious Christian song (that all the old people assumed was satanic because they couldn’t be bothered to try listening to lyrics) so I don’t care for the words much anymore, but the guitar is still banger.

OOP missed the mark on this one. This is serene. Like you moved out either for the first time or transferred to a new city and brought only the things you love before you fill your house up with trash

My bro got out of army and moved 6000km to a new job in a new city in a new country. His setup was:

    • clothes
    • couch for sleeping
    • monitor on cardboard box
    • keyboard on smaller box
    • back to the wall

He worked like that until the Stuff arrived.

Yeah, my response was “needs a comfy seat, something to put the TV on so it’s eye level, and something to put the pizza and drink on so they’re within arm’s reach”.

But otherwise this is peak. I had a space in my parent’s basement like this with an old couch and dresser that had been headed to the dump, along with the big family CRT when they upgraded to LCD. Add some Bionicle and other Lego to fidget with and inject that nostalgia into my veins.

You should stretch before getting out of bed.

I’m only in my 30s but I have joint issues and since I started stretching before I get out of bed, I have had less back issues, particularly my lower back.

Haha, I was half joking! I seldom have actual back pain thankfully, but being in my late 30s I definitely have to put in some effort to keep it that way

My body reminds me very painfully whenever I forget to stretch out certain muscles.

I don’t look forward to the next 30 years and want to go back to a time when I could fall off a 2nd floor balcony and just walk it off.

Actually that might explain some current issues…

Any stretches you can do sitting on the ground, you can do in bed.

Stretching torso muscles specifically, twisting, leaning, honestly any standing ones you can do from the waist up, and you can even stretch out legs before getting out of bed, too.

By the time all that is done, you can spring up and do the standing stretches without worrying you’ll pull a muscle getting out of bed.

And if you laughed at the idea of someone pulling a muscle simply by getting out of bed, you just aren’t old enough yet. You’ll get there. I’m only in my 30s and I’m already there.

    Chocolate milk, GameCube, and me!
