MAID, because it’s cheaper than health care!

I know that is not the case for all people but 4% of deaths in a years? That does seem unusually high.

MAID, because it’s cheaper than health care!

"To access MAID, an individual must have a serious illness, disease or disability which causes irreversible decline and unbearable suffering that “cannot be relieved under conditions [the patient considers] acceptable,”

There is no “health care” under those circumstances, not even pain care, so this is an incredibly compassionate option.

This bad-faith argument is constantly parroted by the right.

“Canada, where we kill you instead of healthcare”.

If you were honest and/or intelligent you would know that MAID can only be requested by a patient, NOT suggested by a doctor, and only allowed when there is no reasonable hope for an improvement of life or cure. Individuals (there were 2 in Canada) that suggested it or appeared to have suggested it made international news and were relieved of their jobs.

You would rather people suffer and die slowly than die with dignity, but you won’t even second guess putting your dog/cat down when they get too old.
