Every strike is like that. Media harps on and on about how workers striking is soooooooo terrible for you and they barely say anything about the terrible working conditions people face that they are trying to negotiate out of to do their job with pride.

“Oh noooooooes your widget is going to be delayed!!!” - most delivery or transport workers strike

“Your passport is going to take longer to arrive” - service canada strike

“Things are going to be more expensive for a bit with some shortages” - rail, truck, dockworker, farmer, metalworker, other producer strike

“Your children will be out of school” - teacher/education worker strike

These are real impacts but they are always hyped up front and center every strike.

Just once I’d like to hear one of these news shows say “these workers can’t afford their rent after working 40 hours a week plus overtime and the part time employees will not gain enough hours to get benefits until they have worked 2.5 years. While their bosses continue to suck all profits from their work as shareholder payouts and golden parachutes.”

“People will be inconvenienced, put in a tight spot, and some may experience significant disruption to their daily lives without this labour! The workers are doing this purely for selfish reasons and should be put in their place! Blame the workers for striking, not the ownership for leaving their wages stagnant and working conditions crumbling until this inevitable breaking point!”
