Storage Industries was acquired by StorageTek which is now part of Oracle. I just thought it was interesting that the company is still technically around.

Meanwhile I just ordered a 1 TB usb key for 22 bucks, delivered. It will be here within the week. And flash drives are hardly the best storage/dollar, and I probably could have found a better price if I had searched harder.

So basically the same price — under $20k — as what’s quoted in this ad. Pity technology hasn’t advanced much.

A 1TB usb key for $22? That doesn’t seem to compute in my mind, are you sure it’s legit (not the first time this has happened to me, being baffled by the so now low prices)?

It does sound too good to be true. There’s this thing where scammers provide a small drive and edit the firmware so it reports a bigger size to the OS. I hope OP has a legit one but 1T is probably more like $60USD in my experience.

Yes that was what I was thinking about, if it’s too good to be true, well…

But I remember when suddenly 16GB pen drives were just a couple of euros… And we’ll get those low prices one day in the future 😁.

Wow, how many did you buy 😁?! I’d probably set up a 4TB backup system imor something if I found that cheap ones…

Please do tell if it was legit when you get it, seems fun times lies ahead!
