Hihihihihihi it’s me hi
fortunately, that is all also under the domain of our mod team. I’m proud to say that we’ve yet to have an emailed ban request go more that four hours without a response.
yeah. It’s pretty emblematic of the struggles we’ve been having with her behind the scenes.
this is just straight up not the case
Just wanted to chime in and say this was legitimately written by the entire mod team in a group google doc. This is not me using the royal we.
??? I don’t think those two things are equivalent man
they were already a mod on lemmy.blahaj.zone
I’m sorry, but no. the only person I would hand over control to is Ada. despite her policy being cited as a reason for our transition, she’s an effective and consistent admin.
well originally the goal was just to seamlessly transfer things over to lemmy.world, posts and all. over the last few months we tested a couple possibilities with altering databases or using the bot api, but was decided that it wasn’t a feasible option.
what we then intended to do was migrate the community, and leave the previous one up as an archive.
seeing the reception that this decision has garnered, I think that we will leave it locked for a period of time so the people know where the community they are familiar with went.
after that point, there is a decision to be made.
Hi there, It’s me, the “power trippin’” mod. If anyone has any questions raised by this post, feel free to ask me and I’ll do my best to answer.
honestly, I think it’s just because I originally wrote the rules before I knew how to write in markdown. I’ll spruce them up tomorrow
any and all terfs from threads or otherwise will be banned. if threads is added as a federated instance, we will simply add them to our list of probation instances in the rules alongside lemmygrad and hexbear. in addition, the way we run our community does not count as enforcing a narrative. because that rule does not apply to us, we do not have to deal with it.
the lack of transparency is primarily due to not wanting to burn bridges with anyone. sometimes disagreements should stay private.
we use proton mostly because it’s the easiest to share an account overseas for free with. we didn’t really need anything fancy
yes, but our community is backed by the head admin. if we start having problems, I have a direct line to the top.
I wouldn’t be so sure. give it a few days to settle, then let me know how you’re feeling
while I do agree that it reduces instance diversity, due to the size of our community, many small instances were apprehensive about taking our community on. it is unfortunate that Lemmy.world is so centralized, but when it comes to a community of our size it is to our benefit
this is an old profile picture that I’ve kept because lemmy.world keeps giving me a json error whenever I try to change it. also, the caption that is cut out in my profile picture is “white people when there’s cheese at the function” neither of these are relevant to what you just said but I’m glad you know now what you did not before
