The first concentration camp was actually Dachau which was in Germany. Bergen Belsen, Buchenwald and many less known ones were/are in Germany. Poland contained the four major extermination camps which were expressly for mass killing, chelmno, sobibor, treblinka, and belzec.
~40,000 facilities were involved including those for temporary detention.
There have been plenty of dictators that have survived in their position doing worse. None of them had the propaganda network like Trump has behind him either.
