Damn that’s a deep cut, unless you’re from WA.

But it’s also not “I’m old” material. There were two Adeles in WA politics that I could find, both born in the '60s, both elected to WA parliament (one in the lower house, one in the upper) during the '00s. And one of them stayed there until 2021!

The other one’s a sad story. Got into an affair with a high ranking member of another party. She ended up resigning from her party and losing the next election. He resigned his Ministry but was reappointed a couple of months and stayed there until he resigned from Parliament 4 years later. Oh, and he had a history of admitted workplace harassment/low-key sexual assault (think “snapped the bra strap” and inappropriate comments) prior to this, as well as inappropriate use of Ministerial entitlements. No prizes for guessing which political party he was from (or for the non-Australians, which part of the political spectrum his party represents).

What if it’s both? I never can tell which is going to pop into my head when I hear hello.

I’m definitely old as fuck, but both songs stick in memory very well

Crazy knowing that most people took zero care of their bodies. Obviously those with injuries or congenital conditions aren’t what the meme is describing.

I say this as a person who worked manual labor from 15 to 35.

You only get one body, and unless you have an excuse, you have no excuse to be a bad pilot of it.

I was fucking invincible when I was younger. I used to bounce my body down a fucking ravine after crashing my motorcycle, get up and run back to the bike, and take off again. Then I’d play full-contact football the next day without pads. At some point in the week I’d get into a fist fight. Nothing could touch me! Then I got older and I discovered I hadn’t defeated those injuries with strength and grace. They were waiting, biding their time, eager to debilitate me when youth had wained. Now a days I’m in constant pain. I’m still strong, and I’m still active, but there’s never a moment when something doesn’t hurt. Don’t just take care of your body with exercise and diet, protect it from injury. Your youth will someday fade, and those injuries will come back to permanently haunt you. It’ll happen sooner than you expect too.
