I also live on the Quebec border, and the COVID-19 vaccine proof from Quebec works in the Ontario app, so that’s kinda neat.

Now I’m wondering if an Ontario vaccine proof will work in the Quebec app.

      That’s a very nice feature!

I honestly have no idea if our BC vaccine proof QR code works anywhere else.

Do you have some info on the underlying system? Ontario and Quebec proof are based on the SmartHealthCard specification, so if the BC proof is based on that it would be fairly trivial to add their public key into other apps to validate the legitimacy of their QR code.

Ah, looks like the SmartHealthCard specification is federally mandated, at least according to the verbage used here: https://www2.gov.bc.ca/gov/content/covid-19/vaccine/proof#privacy

This part about businesses verifying out of province proof is interesting: https://www2.gov.bc.ca/gov/content/covid-19/vaccine/proof/businesses#out-of-province

There’s a whole PDF there, too, showing some provinces/territories have QR codes in their records, but no real indication whether they can be read with the BC record checking app: https://www2.gov.bc.ca/assets/gov/covid-19/immunization/immunization-record-examples/immunization_record_samples_canada.pdf

Guess this is why there’s the big PDF of how to validate all the other Canadians, heh.
