oh, okay. i think i understand the situation now. the version on the play store is a bit older because something broke with the release pipeline :/ i will fix it but im a bit busy atm so we’ll see when ill be able to do it

but the bottom line is: sorry about it not working, we’ll be working on it, for now just use the F-Droid version

what instance were you trying to sign into? because i just tried it with lemmy.ml and it works. also could you also say the version of the app? (you can find it in settings->about lemmur) in general there’s some stuff in the app that might not work because we haven’t updated the app to work with the latest changes to the api yet. but basic stuff works, that’s something that i’m sure of

edit: also wanted to note that this is not an official app, we are independently working on it as a hobby. the official android app is being worked on but idk how far are they with the project

lol how do you replace tinder with rss?

i think awards would be a good way for people to support independent instances

i think i’d be cute. tho i think they’d be more suitable for comments rather than posts

i have to strongly disagree. they do a lot of stuff that would be regarded as evil: making their devices as hard to repair as possible, fucking over independent developers, pushing their subscriptions inside of iOS (“get Apple Arcade/Music/TV Free for 3 Months!” with hopes that you forget about them charging your card). the bottom line is that privacy (or rather the perception of privacy) is their brand so they have to do things that reinforce it in minds of their users.

NLNet funding for lemmur
Lemmur is receiving funding from NLNet foundation 🎉. Thanks to it we will be able to work on a set of features that will greatly improve lemmur. The full amount is €10000. 100% true, it’s so annoying when I sometimes want to buy from some burgers place and all of them look like they would dislocate my jaw

Turns out I was taught to use a hate symbol in school 🤯

I like this decision. I really hope this more repairable approach to making laptops will become more popular

i’m not really a great source for this since i have yet to learn it, but i got hyped up when i saw this talk about elm, tho i should warn you that there is some sussy stuff going on with elm now. i read that the creator of elm removed the ability to call to JS for anyone but himself and removed ability for users to define custom operators. i personally, while still am interested in elm, will also take a look at PureScript which seems to be elm’s most popular competitor

i want to learn some kind of functional programming language, i’m thinking about haskel, elm, or some kind of lisp

awesome! i really like that settings are now separate from profile. also blocking will def come in handy :P

i agree that blocking a community would be a very useful feature

i wish there was some kind of moderation feed where i could see all the posts from communities that i moderate, where i could mark them as seen. that way moderation would be much easier.

also ability to search in communities. or alternatively some kind of tag system for search, where i could specify search parameters, for example query like that “problem -c:lemmur” could search only in community !lemmur the phrase “problem”

but lacks a lot of QoL features

do you think you could elaborate on that? :) do you have any specific features in mind?

I don’t think you or any other laymen have heard of term “being condoscending”

it kinda annoys me that there’s a lot of China/NK simps here. I mean it doesn’t bother me too much but it will definitely cripple the ability for this project to grow

You can now grab lemmur from [F-Droid](https://f-droid.org/packages/com.krawieck.lemmur/) and the [Play Store](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.krawieck.lemmur). If you want to follow lemmur releases/news checkout the [repo](https://github.com/LemmyOrg/lemmur) and/or follow the [!lemmur@lemmy.ml](https://lemmy.ml/c/lemmur) community. You can always support the development on [Patreon](https://www.patreon.com/lemmur) or [BuyMeACoffee](https://www.buymeacoffee.com/lemmur) PS. We do not flavor our releases: github release tab, fdroid, and play store apks are built from the same source code. Feel free to download lemmur from any place you like.

normally I would be inclined to believe, but since it’s Facebook I’m not gonna believe a single goddamn word. ZUCC is an awful human being and I hate every single product he owns

I added some screenshots to the post

yes, we do. how quickly will mostly depend on how big will the demand be

![lemmur logo](https://raw.githubusercontent.com/LemmurOrg/lemmur/master/assets/readme_icon.svg) Lemmur is a mobile lemmy client that I and [@shilangyu](https://github.com/shilangyu) have been working on for quite some time. It's supposed to give you seamless experience when using multiple instances. It's available for android, windows and linux, although it is mainly targeted towards mobile devices. The experience on other platforms might be less satisfactory. This is only an alpha release so not everything will be working, there are some parts of the app that aren't finished. But we believe it is usable _enough_ for people to browse their favorite instances. At the moment we would prefer to focus on fixing bugs rather than implementing arbitrary features so if you have any bugs or crashes please let us know in the comments or [create an issue on github](https://github.com/krawieck/lemmur/issues/new/choose). Screen recordings are welcome (github now supports uploading `.mp4` and `.mov` files), it's always easier to understand the problem through visuals rather than words only. If you'd like to see a version for iOS on the apple app store or just generally would like to support the development you can chip in over on [patron](https://www.patreon.com/lemmur) or [buymeacoffee](https://www.buymeacoffee.com/lemmur), which will help cover the $99 developer license. Here are some screenshots of the app: https://imgur.com/a/B5XhhXQ

the primary changes from the previous build are:

  • added pull to refresh
  • added search tab

this comment was made using lemmur btw :smiling face with sunglasses:

Oh, well that’s a shame. Thanks for the explanation. But good thing that they’re not trying to censor

I wanted to post this image in a post discussing privacy respecting chat apps. Facebook was crushing the resolution so I wanted to link to it directly, but there was a surprise waiting for me :'( this is the url if someone wants to check it out: https://lemmy.ml/pictrs/image/8IjSIQBMvD.jpg?format=jpg it's from [this post](https://lemmy.ml/post/46959)
