Tldr catfriend redirected the repo to an identical one owned by a new GitHub account, including the signing keys. So obtainium will update to any new version with no issues, but it’s not the same developer. Said developer did not give much detail about the handover and even had the GH issues closed for some time. So there is some doubt about whether they should be trusted right away. GrapheneOS also claims it’s not defending against anything real. Which makes sense as Pixels can clearly maintain security while allowing alternate OSes. So this is just hostile vendor lock-in.
