Bikes are vehicles that can take up a whole lane. To have them walk back the bike lane laws just start using full lanes while on a bicycle.

Ha indeed, every room in the house is getting 2 faceplates (on roughly opposite sides of the room) with 4 Ethernet that runs each back to the server rack. Is every room having 8 runs right back to the switch excessive, you bet.
In my old place I had one faceplate with 2 ethernet, coax and phone to each room, but phone and coax is useless and I didn’t have enough Ethernet.

Rae days were actually a great idea, don’t fire anyone able give everyone a long weekend every other week. Sure it’s a 10% paycut for everyone but it’s better than a 10% workforce cut and people’s hourly rates remained the same so it’s not like their work is worth less.
1·3 months agoI agree with this, though I think a lot of people don’t differentiate between operating system containers like LXC provides and application containers like docker provides.
I think it’s more like “work though school to avoid loans”

2·4 months agoAt least we did get another half life game (Alyx), I greatly enjoyed the first 4 core games (1, 2, ep1, ep2) and felt that Alyx fit nicely into the bunch though it was interesting that they ended it in such a way that it opens up more options for any future games.
As an aside while I know the market is definitely smaller for VR releases, if the next half life was a VR release again I would love that, i found the experience for Alyx to be stellar
4·4 months agoI would like to see a tax on third properties and above that sit vacant for more than 6 months a year then 10% of the property value as a fine which would go to a ministry supporting unhoused people.
There would probably have to be some provision that if the property is rented out then for tax purposes the rent must be considered at the market rate -15% at the time the agreement was made. Eg a corpo couldn’t rent a bunch of units to a subsidiarity and call them occupied since they are rented arrive they would have to pay income tax on the income.
1·4 months agoAs an extra to this people might go with the longer term to lock get the deal then after a period that’s so long one of two things happens.
- the service us great and they are used to using it and keep it going
- the service isn’t so good and they either renew since they forgot or they cancel and the business got more income that they may not have otherwise got.
5·4 months agoHomes in North America are actually split phase 240v so it would actually be 240v * 200 or 48,000w. Not that I’m here to say you’re wrong for your primary point, but the incoming supply is a 200amp fuse per leg (120v to neutral, 240. Leg to leg), with any imbalance returning though the neutral line.

So, one thing that’s not clear here. Is the server and your desktop both at the same location? If they are I see no reason why you couldn’t just leave all the files on the server, have an NFS or Samba share then just stop it on the server and start it (over the network share) on your desktop. It would be functionally seamless, would require no effort to keep the files in sync, and would ensure your running things in the box you want.
