    Among the other crimes of this piece of nonsense: axes should have meanings.

    You can’t just put random words on a page and pretend it’s a graph.

    The “fuck around” axis has only one example of fucking around (“americans among hostages”) the rest is just a list of US military movements.

    The items on the “find out” axis don’t happen in that order and they happen independent of the items on the “fuck around” axis.

    “A new government has already been decided upon”

    If only. The Gaza Strip is one of the handful of regions that could actually benefit from US regime change. Not because we’re good at it, but because the strip is so monumentally fucked as it is.

          The Monkey’s Paw curls. First contact is with an alien race with technology beyond our wildest dreams and the ability to solve all our problems. However, it turns out they were the inspiration for Christianity and due to a very crucial passage of the Bible describing a ritual to be registered in their database of “saved souls” having been lost to time, no one is saved.

      I mean yeah but Vietnam didn’t go great for the Vietnamese either. “The US is getting involved in your war” is bad even if you win because “dropped more bombs on your tiny Asian country than were dropped in all of WW2 and then gave up and withdrew” is a pretty goddamned Pyrrhic victory.

        Agreed … but if your options are death, destruction and subjugation … or fight endlessly until you get anything out of it … it’s a sight to behold how the Vietnamese even still exist today.

        A single lifetime might seem insignificant … but in the long run … even empires do fall.

        It went pretty much exactly like Ho planned. He knew the death counts were going to be horribly skewed and that it would take a long time, but that they’d win with discipline.

        Great for international communism and the Ho clique, good for the survival of the VN identity, an absolute disaster for pretty much every civilian in the country.
