You couldn’t be further from the truth. I do like single-player video games (especially indie games) but competitive video games usually favor the players who practiced the most whereas the board and card games above have a low barrier of entry. My interest in Minecraft faded away over the years.

Lately, It’s been Stardew Valley, Farming Simulator 19, Arma 3, and Hearts of Iron 4. But Minecraft’s a classic too, along with a few others.

Just discovered Golf With Your Friends the other day with my usual group. Haven’t laughed so hard in quite some time.

Battlebit Remastered is so much freaking fun everyone needs to try this game. While the voxel graphics may turn people off, it’s got some of the best fps gameplay ever. I really love it!

do you have a guide handy for setting up remote play with Dolphin? not asking for the game itself.

i also wonder what the latency is like with remote play, especially for minigames.

Sorry I haven’t checked lemmy in a minute, you can find guides for it on this steam page. Check the About section for the specific games you want to try. It’s pretty simple, latency is good too though that depends on the ping of each player.

Edit: just realized you wanted a general netplay guide, you can find one here or use the netplay section under the Mario Party 4/5/6/7 Netplay Guide, it’s pretty much the same for most games.

I have a pretty solid group that I play both Squad and Rising Storm 2 vietnam with. Outside of those games though I kinda prefer solo experiences as I get into my mid 20’s. I just do not care to compete with players and much prefer co-op online experiences. Bad news is that it is really hard to find people to organize game nights with for co-op games.

The reason I like Squad so much is actually because it feels more like a Co-Op game similar to Arma’s popular invasion ruleset. In Squad I can contribute to the team by being a spotter, Logistics man, driver, commander, or squad leader. All of those roles do not rely on me being amazing with a rifle (although I am really good at fps games I just don’t care for shooting as much as I used to). Instead these roles rely on communication and me being a naturally charismatic dude.
