It has become apparent that @[email protected] has been manipulating votes by voting with multiple accounts on other instances.

At the very least, on this post they have upvoted it using multiple accounts with the same username on different instances, as well as multiple votes in the comments of that post. It’s very likely they are doing the same on all their posts.

They are also harassing other users by digging up comments/posts then lying about them in order to slander the other person.

The comment chain on this thread shows this behavior:
https://lemmy.world/post/32414918/18033196
(Note that there is an unmarked NSFW image from that user in the comments. This was used as an attempt to harass another user.)

– Edit –
@[email protected] is now here with some pathetic spin and conspiracy bullshit. They are trying to act like a victim like the whole issue has to do with AI when it’s entirely about them harassing users and a painfully obvious use of alts for manipulation. They even went so far as to post a porn image, in an attempt to harass another user, in a comm that has a clear rule against posting porn. The problems with this user has nothing to do with their sad use of AI.

@[email protected] is clearly another alt of their’s. Not only did they never post anything until now and show up here at nearly the same time and use the same phrasing and ridiculous arguments, notice how they have the same exact text in their user bio.

Here is [email protected]:

And [email protected]:

This is just sad.

There’s a few ways of seeing votes. IMO they should be visible all the time.

Moderators can see the votes of posts and comments in the subs they moderate.

Admins can see all votes federated to their instance.

Users have to use a separate tool for it. In this case I used Lemvotes.

Shit behavior but the constant anti ai bullshit is so annoying. He’s 100% right when he talks about the tag teaming and brigading. I don’t even think the meme is AI, I think he’s messing with you guys when bringing up the egg. If you check his history, it’s just reposts.

It’s a meme community, the “AI slop” crusaders really need to learn to relax.

the constant anti ai bullshit is so annoying

What is far more annoying is AI constantly being shoved into everything and everywhere. It’s impossible to escape. People are far more tired of shit AI than anyone could possibly claim to be about “anti ai.”

He’s 100% right when he talks about the tag teaming and brigading.

Absolutely wrong. Brigading and “tag teaming” would require a concerted effort. What you’re claiming is just separate individuals who all don’t like AI being shoved down their throat everywhere and people attempting to pass it as genuine content.

Marking AI content as AI generated and allowing people to filter it out would solve all of these issues. That is the only real disconnect. Don’t try to turn it into some bullshit conspiracy theory because you’re encountering other people who disagree with you. That shit is worse than what you falsely accuse as “brigading” and “tag teaming.”

More importantly, there is no need to bring that argument in here. Why even try to bother with supporting that argument here and now when this is a thread about a user being a complete scumbag and having been manipulating votes. This thread is not about that argument at all.

I think he’s messing with you guys when bringing up the egg

That’s harassment. Why even defend this behavior? Why are you here? Just to complain about “anti ai”? This is not the time or place.

I’m not endorsing the vote manipulation, and in fact we immediately banned all his alts from our instance as you are perhaps aware, but didn’t mention here, and the user has been warned not to do it again.

But it honestly seems a bit pathetic to be crying all over Lemmy just because someone decided to give you a taste of your own medicine for a change tbh. Especially when you and your contumelious mates go around bullying and harassing folks all the time. Don’t you have a shred of self awareness? Your behaviour is 100x more toxic than any genAI image will ever be.

My own medicine? Are you saying I dig through people’s post history and make up lies in order to slander them? Are you saying I post porn in communities that explicitly have rules against it? Are you saying I use multiple accounts to manipulate votes which violate the Lemmy.world rules in order to benefit myself and my comments that harass users? This entire thread has nothing to do with AI.

Do you have any shred of awareness? You should be ashamed.

Lemmy, and specifically Lemmy World, is allowing users to utilize an outside tool as described below to spy/harass/gang-up, and now trying to ban other users, all because the user ‘go $fsck whatever’ is rolling around meme sites using this on people who post AI memes? How is this allowed and why is it allowed? This is disturbing. Can someone riddle me this, how is this better than reddit? On reddit, people were fed up with the heavy censorship of mods/admins/corporate, but here the users are doxxing, try to censor other users via outside tools. As the old meme goes; These two “pictures” are the same.

You just outed another alt of yours, rodneyck. Congrats.

“doxxing”? Your arguments are unhinged. You’re clearly here to try to harass me using alts and you’re only upset because you were caught manipulating votes. Having things like votes and the modlogs public is the strength of Lemmy that prevents people like you from trying to manipulate the platform to your advantage.

Some instances defederated from lemvotes.org, which is why it doesn’t work on them. I’d like to know why lemmy.world hasn’t done it.

When you come across vote manipulation, I think the thing to do is report them to the mods/admins and let them handle it.

What benefit is there in doing so? If you have the resources, anyone can spin up a federated instance and gain access to the same information that is available to admins and mods. This just makes it more accessible. People could even just use an instance of this Lemvotes tool.

Personally, I think the vote information should be public to all users inherently. This is a perfect example of why.

Yeah that is a good question. The thing is with the moderators, some of them are afraid of this [fck AI] group. I guess they can really take down an instance, community, swarms? We we see. I think it needs to be dealt with at a Lemmy World level.

More harassment from the antiAI crowd. At least you’ve given me another name to add to the ban list. This kind of behavior is disgusting, but since it’s .world I guess I shouldn’t be surprised.
