They probably come from the boat like that. Not like they’re going to get much dirtier. Presumably they have to clean them before they cook them anyway. Speaking of cleaning, are they doing laundry there too in the kitchen next to the fish delivery? But who is this handsome fellow giving a sly side eye to the camera with his cylindrical mystery item.
It may also symbolise abundance. They got more stuff than there is space for in the kitchen.
