I want to apologize if I offended any PoC, I didn’t read the greentext correctly and “basketball American” slipped through. I’ve tried to keep my posts as clean as possible and will continue to do so. It’s entirely my mistake and I’m sorry.

Its fourchan, its the most politically correct term they could come up with. I m honestly shocked there is nothing worse in there.

Calling that politically correct is a bigger laugh than how blatantly racist it was in the first place.

Should have called themselves swimmer American for consistency.

Sorry, the whips? I don’t know enough about NASCAR to get that joke, maybe.

White people love nascar for the same reason they love millionaires. They think I could be that and then drunkenly drive their lifted truck home and kill a family with a NASCAR sticker on the back of their truck on the way back from the bar while they listen to a country song from a different millionaire telling them they just gotta roll up their sleeves and work every day like the singer does

Imagine being upset that your 4chan greentext forum has racism in the post. You can’t eat your cake and have it, too. That just comes with the territory

My guy, even I’m not going to defend it. I thought it meant something different as so much of the greentext seemed absurd for the sake of absurdity. I’ve posted several greentexts without racism or sexism, so it’s far from impossible. Just because something is ubiquitous doesn’t make it okay. Now I’m stuck deciding between deleting the post or keeping it up with an apology to acknowledge my mistake.

I like to see this place as the distilled decency of 4chan and everyone else seems to agree to the same. Lemmy’s not big on unfiltered racism.

So you want to read greentexts and 4chan screenshots and not encounter racism? Seems like an oxymoron to me.

Bro, that’s the nicest name his years of 4chan addict brain could’ve come up with. 4chan is known for using the hard R N-word very very liberally.

Golfer? Polo player? What’s the whitest sport imagineable in the most offensive way?

      (Oh yes colonialism)

Here I was assuming from that line that this was not in the united states so it was notable that the man was american and also that be was wearing a basketball outfit. Then i thought it was weird they were talking about carrying given that it wasn’t the US and then I just forgot the basketball thing

I genuinely read that sentence as, a famous basketball player.

But calling someone “baseball American” is fucking rude.

It’s called “disposing of evidence”. The only reason for him to get rid of the gun is because he doesn’t want to be found with that gun.

Maybe he took the gun back when he got out. In that case it might have just been him wanting the cab driver to have a gun to protect them, and not wanting to be prosecuted for being drunk and shooting if something were to happen.

The slope is slippery. I don’t want to make work for the mods when people feel right in taking the next step. I like the politically correct greentexts posted here.

The moral of the story is not to let oneself be blinded by one’s prejudices. Most people are good, and you have nothing to fear from them. Most people look out for each other to some extent. That is the moral of the story, OP.
