Robinson, a one-time football hooligan with a string of UK criminal convictions, is serving an 18-month jail term after he admitted contempt of court in a long-running libel case involving a Syrian refugee.

Why the fuck do they give this guy so much visibility on foreign affairs?

Yes, I know it’s because of money and power, but this guy shouldn’t have any power over UK, German or, truth be told, any matter whatsoever outside the US. Or even inside the USimho.

I’m so glad we have 4+ years until the next election. Hopefully he’ll get bored of UK politics and focus on ruining something else before then

Very well calculated move, and a clear signal of his intention. UK media will amplify and the government won’t cope it.

The BBC championed Twitter and still use it - so it’s pretty much deserved.

If the government responds at all, why would they not just say “no”? The man was convicted and Musk has literally zero right to decide otherwise. It’s a perfect opportunity for Starmer to do his public prosecutor thing too

The article doesn’t even say what that dude was imprisoned for.

Being right wing isn’t a crime on it’s own. It’s like bunch of stupids are writing a sensationalist piece for other stupids to be angry about.

Contempt of court (this time). He was found to have libelled a 15 year old refugee a few years back, and having already had an injunction placed against him to stop repeating the libel he did so a third time anyway and the courts got fed up with his shit

Read it again. It literally says why he’s serving 18 months. Hell, even the OP shared that paragraph.
