Marx defined communism as stateless. MLs want a state. They say they want to get rid of the state in the long term, but they have no ideas on how to achieve this and they support socialist states such as China. They actively degrade the ideas of anarchists who want to have a communist revolution. They say communist revolutions don’t work, you need to have a socialist revolution instead. As anti-communists, they cannot be communists.
As much as I I agree with you, this kind of definition isn’t helping anyone to discuss on the common grounds. I can argue that “communist” states were state capitalist, but I’d still call the people actually thinking that communism is good, communists
They only say communism is good when they’re trying to regain the credibility they lose by constantly attacking communism and simping for authoritarian socialist regimes which have absolutely zero plans to achieve communism. I don’t think their actions are the actions of someone who really thinks communism is good.
