His joke was a lot more subtle and could as easily be about the fact that the original meme caught on because these guys are so weird, but it wasn’t an outright accusation, and this meme has “couch fucker” in actual quotes, like he actually said that. It would be moronic of Walz to outright call Vance a couch fucker and now there is this meme floating around making it look like he did.

I’m not sure who you think is going to be turned off. He mentioned the couch meme in somewhat distant language, so that if you didn’t know what it was then you wouldn’t know what he was talking about. The prudish folk who would be upset at such a meme’s existence didn’t look it up.
And everyone else recognizes that while the man looks to be wholesome in general, he’s not Mother Teresa and no one wants him to be. He’s supposed to be the vice president, not Santa Claus. He’s not allowed to tell a joke? Come on now. You can find something better to worry about than this.
