Not even the mix. It’s so expensive for what it is.

flour, shortening, salt, sugar and baking powder. Add cheese to he mix, bake. Then literally soak them in garlic butter when they are done. Whole thing takes maybe 30 minutes.

You’re one of those people who thinks that frozen pizza is just as good as delivery, aren’t you?

Then make it from scratch. It’s not that hard and better than restaurants. And yes, my homemade pizza is better than delivery too, since I take the time to let the dough sit for a few days to develop flavor and use higher quality toppings than the average pizza shop.

Then it will still taste good but it just won’t be as tasty as it could be. Patience and planning makes for great pizza, but even thrown together pizza is still better than frozen.

Haha, I was being sarcastic. I used to run a bread bakery. We’d slow ferment our sourdough over three days. There’s nothing like a good, fresh bread.

All I can say to someone who says to me things like, “it’s not that hard and better than restaurants” is that they are a far better cook than me or anyone I’m related to.

That’s what the boxed mix is for…people that need everything measured out and as simple as possible. And pretty soon that may be all you can get. So you’re either going to have to give them up, or get better at cooking. I’d suggest getting better at cooking. It really makes life easier, or at least tastier.

Then never have cheddar bay biscuits again. That’s a you problem. Children are able to cook this.

Fuck no I’m not. Frozen is never as good as freshly baked. But going to red lobster for the biscuits is like buying an airline for free peanuts

But have you ever been to like an actual seafood place? I understand if that’s your only option, but there are places near me that are so much better, especially since red lobster has gotten worse and more expensive

Oh I have. Trust me. I’ve had some amazing sea food.

Of course Red Lobster not the best there is, but it’s not bad. At least the one in Ottawa, the closest one to me, is fine.

I have been to some nice places for seafood, but in my city there’s only red lobster if you need a crab fix. It does the job, but it’s getting pricey for what you get.

There’s an excellent fiction novel about the closing night of a Red Lobster that’s really great though (Last Night at the Lobster by Stewart O’Nan) which I’m glad it inspired at least.

I thought you said science fiction for a moment, and I was intrigued. “Last Night at the Lobster” sounds a lot more sinister with that in mind.

“The year is 2374. The Casual Dining War is coming to a rapid close as The Fifteenth Applebee’s Space Brigade approaches the last combination Red Lobster/Olive Garden in existence. This is the story of the brave servers who fought that battle.”
