On my phone I use transportr but I’d like to be able to have a website that does the same thing to be able to check transport schedules without ads or any tracking bullshit on a computer. so is there a transport assistant website?
Yes, but OpenSource only one (Freemium) https://alternativeto.net/software/transportr/
Look at what network you selected in transportr and use their website?
The official website of the public transports in my town is full of craps so it could be better to have something better. But that’s what I’m doing for now :/
Use Blokada if you use it in your Mobile. This cut off all the crap, ads and trackers, also in the installed apps not only online. https://blokada.org In desktop use uBlock Origin and Trace.
All OpenSource
Didn’t know about Trace, I’ll check about it thx :)
It’s the best I’ve ever tried, an ideal complement to uBO. Another good complementary extension to these two, is SiteBleacher, which you will surely also like. It removes automatically cookies, local storages, IndexedDBs, service workers, cache storages, filesystems and webSQLs, except from the whitelisted sites. With these three you really show the ugly finger to any tracker and other crap that the pages put on your computer.
It seems that Trace is discontinued for now, at least on Firefox.
Also, isn’t the use of many extensions actually harmful to you, as in fingerprinting? they’re Interesting extensions nonetheless
Citymapper.com could be what you’re searching for (but proprietary). Found it here: https://alternativeto.net/software/transportr/
