I’m confused by this question. Netflix HAS movies. If you mean hosting you’re own movie library we already have platforms like that for free.

Adding to my previous post, you just need a Raspberry Pi and Kodi and the Seren or TheOath app. It uses debrid services like premiumize or realdebrid to fetch cached torrents from their servers

Those services do exist but I wouldn’t pay for it.

I really don’t like the idea of someone profiting of someone else’s work. At least if you pay for a streamung service some money will reach the creators.

I think not having to pay is one of the key points why people go to pirate platforms.

I pay for piracy services so other people can continue to pirate for free.

Software companies can get stuffed. The more money they lose, the more FOSS gains.

Music and movie streaming sites can get stuffed too. Seeders are the real OGs who keep things around forever.

I do this with debrid services and kodi. Works exactly like Netflix, but with more selection. Costs me less than 20$ a year.

I basically already host that for my relatives through Plex, but I don’t make any money out of it. I just do it because I want to.

I know where to get the content, and if something is missing that they want they just send me a message, I don’t mind doing it for them.

I won’t. I wouldn’t expect a service to last long enough for it to be worth it to me to switch over.

    Also, Jellyfin already exists.

    • piracy.

I wont pay nothing. Popcorntime already gives you a Netflix like interface, or just put ur collection on Kodi and it looks great.

I watch Netflix from my sister’s account lol, I pirate everything else

If it’s on Netflix, I’ve found that it’s also a pretty popular torrent. For better or worse since some of those shows are no joke terrible and really shouldn’t be watched.

That said, I’m surprised no one has tried making a “dark web Netflix” onion service that just streams mainstream movies and shows for free. I mean, Tor is slow, but YouTube works on it with relatively little issue other than Google blacklisting a bunch of IP addresses. I guess it could get expensive.

Really torrents already solve the problem tech-wise, what’s needed is just a clean UI for tv and films specifically, which popcorn time mostly fills.
