Why remake it? I played it for the first time just this year and it’s awesome. Another game in the same setting though…
It runs at locked 30fps, 1080p. Even if it just had a PS5 update it would be fine, but it’s a bit tough on the eyes on a larger TV. Even a simple 60fps update would be enough, and a modder showed that even a PS4 can consistently hit 60fps playing it.
I honestly don’t need more than 30 fps / 1080p. But I’m also one of those people refusing to buy a PS5 and buying everything for PS4 instead.
PS4 and PS4 pro run lots of games at 60fps
I was fine with 30fps for the longest time. I got a PS5 just last year and man, it really is rough going back to 30fps after playing everything else in 60.
30 fps is fine. But what isn’t fine, is unstable 30 fps. The game can’t maintain 30 fps and has poor frame times.
Remake would be pushing it, I guess, but a PC port or getting the remaster treatment like Demon’s Souls would make me so happy.
God please no, I don’t want everything to have animations with little weight :(
It probably won’t be too much longer before we get PS4 emulation anyways
No idea why a remake. I’d personally love a pc port, but otherwise I think it’s fine how it is
60 FPS OR RIOT!
It runs like absolute shit 😂
Instead, they should do a proper From Software sequel. New location and new type of elderitch threat like Aztec with a more vampiric twist.
Rejoice! Thy pleading hath reach divine ears and produceth scripture! Bloodborne lives!
That looks sick and I will definitely be giving it a try after the holidays. Have you tried it, got any thoughts on it?
No, I actually either figured out it released or remembered when I made that joke. Please report back with your findings. I’m about to go nuclear and switch everything I have to arch so idk if I’ll be able to anytime soon.
Will do, good luck with arch o7
There are several really cool “demakes” from the last few years, and I’m hoping the trend continues.
The one I’m most impressed and excited about is N64 Portal, dev “diary” here:

Please stop with the remakes! Create new IP.
I want my shit on PC and not stuck on my dying ps4.
I agree! After they remake bloodborne though.
The world’s a big place. There’s room for both, it’s OK.
Man I wonder if Sony is keeping that one in the PS Gulag just out of spite now. Like HL3 gets delayed everytime somebody asks for it.
On the other side, Atlus was finally able to escape and port Persona 5 for PC, so maybe there is a chance now that Sony obviously feels cornered into porting their games all of a sudden when M$ gets bigges in the last years.
I have to wonder how much of the lack of a port to PC is simply due to the fact that the development practices and pipeline of PS4 exclusives didn’t account for the possibility of eventually porting to a different platform. After all, there has to be a reason why the majority of Sony PC ports have been games that had some sort of PS5 version, and we know that PS5 titles are developed setting up the foundation for porting to other platforms from the start (see the Nixes talk on their Spiderman port and stuff like that). It might very well be that the job of porting to PC or even PS5 in an appropriate manner would be so hard, messy and hacky that they consider it’s not worth it. The fact that it was done by a third party studio probably doesn’t help.
My more cynical side really considers the possibility that they are keeping it in the back pocket as a go-to for a hyped remake at the right time (push of a newer version of PS5 or PS6 release window). The Demon Souls remake did decently well and it was the remake of a title that not many cared about… How well would the remake of the hyped Bloodborne do, comparatively?
And I think that there’s probably an intersection of both, that the task of porting the game out of PS4 would be demanding enough that at that point might as well do a full remake.
I absolutely can believe that they are of keeping it in their back pocket for an opportune time like as a lead title for PS6 or something.
At this point, as a customer, it’s really hard justifying buying a PlayStation at all so I’m sure Sony is worried about their marketshare as well.
Bloodborne was developed for pc first and then ported to PS from my understanding. Some of the wiki images are from the PC version of the game, submitted by one of the devs.
Or I’m thinking of another game.
Yeah there were some rumors along those lines, but primarily related to very early builds (the wiki image thing was debunked, if I recall correctly) I have to imagine there is a substantial difference between crude early work and the final product, and we don’t know how advanced those builds were, they very well might’ve been just proof of concept prototypes.
I wouldn’t necessarily put too much weight into that as the basis for believing that a port was intended, since Bloodborne was developed around the change of the generation and it’s very possible that those builds were just them trying to get some work going while waiting to get their hands on the development resources and tools for PS4.I didn’t mean a PC version was intended. Even if there was a fully-polished PC version, keeping their console exclusives to increase people buying into the system can be worth keeping it exclusive for a company.
oopsie I read the concept of developed on pc as intended to release on pc, my bad, that’s on me sorry
Dont you know, unless you sell double digit million copys you are a failure in sonys eyes that doesnt deserve the light of day
They are literally throwing away money.
A game that’s one generation old needs to get in the back of the remake line.
PS5 performance upgrade or PC port!
They can’t even cope with widescreen
At least give us a pc port. The only reason I’m holding on to my ps4 at this point is because I might play bloodborn.
I’ve played the PS4 version on PS5, and either I’m imagining things, or it actually looks better.
And here I am just (sadly) waiting for the Ghosts of Tsushima PC port
