As an exciting year for the instance draws to a close, we would love to learn more about our growing community. We invite all users on lemmy.ca, including those visiting our communities, to fill out this census/feedback form!

Please select “(skip this question)” on any question that you do not want to answer. If you would like to submit your responses some other way, please reach out to @[email protected] on Lemmy and we will see what we can do.

There are four sections:

  • Section 1: Location
  • Section 2: Demographics
  • Section 3: Instance Usage
  • Section 4: Feedback Form

The results will be aggregated, summarized, and posted on [email protected]. The results will not be shared with anyone else for any purpose.

Please comment with any issues or questions. You might remember this from the earlier post: Would people be interested in having an instance census sometime?

The census will close on Jan 01 2024

Why is it on Google Forms? There are many self-hosted form-building services. Isn’t this the whole point of Lemmy? To avoid centralized services like Google Forms?

We discussed it briefly (some of which should be in the linked post). This seemed like the simple and familiar solution for our first run, where we had an option for people to reach out and submit manually if they didn’t feel good about using the form. Once we have a chance to compare and vet the options, we can move to something better for next time.

On that note, would you have a recommendation?

We can drop off the surveys at Bob’s house, you know the one who lives just off of Main?
