Breaking things and learning how to fix them is a big part of owning a home lab. It can be frustrating but the learning experience is worth it

If you’re planning to download media, check out the Server Wiki. It has guides on setting up all the software to automate the process.
Most Usenet providers offer secure connections so I don’t know if it’s necessary, but I use a VPN.
Good work, it looks cozy. What’s the grate under the couch?
I was just wishing for this feature
This would be interesting to see
I just updated on my pixel 7 pro, no issues here so far
Same here. Sorting by hot subscribed in my browser and apps all show this at the top.
I’m seeing the same. My instance was upgraded last night, now the front page reloads everytime I go back. Testing on Firefox on Android, not sure of other setups.
Should these links work? I’m viewing this thread from Lemmy.ca and both give me a 404 error. When testing with jerboa, the app crashes
I think am sort of struggling to wrap my head around how lemmy really works and where should be hanging out. It was easier on reddit in the sense that if I wanted to go LOTRmemes, there was only subreddit but here on Lemmy, there seem to be multiple instances of the same community :D
This one took awhile to wrap my head around as well. I’ll try to explain. Each Lemmy instance has its own unique communities. So you might find LOTRmemes on lemmy.one, lemmy.ml, and Lemmy.world. Each is a community of its own and unrelated to the community of the same name on a different instance. You can choose to subscribe to each one you find or only the ones that seem to fit your tastes.
I have 2 yubi keys for the more important systems and store the rest in bitwarden.
With your 2 yubi keys, is it possible to set one up as a clone of the other? I’ve been manually adding to both keys but that’s a pain when I don’t have the backup with me.
I appreciate all the detail you provided - I wasn’t expecting that. What do you call the group(?) of trees you collect from? A farm is the only term that comes to mind but doesn’t sound right. I’ve seen this setup while skidooing in northern NB but just assumed gravity did most of the work.
How many lateral lines can you have on a main line? I’m guessing you only need one of these releasers per main line?
Can you give a quick explanation what this does? I can see it’s part of a system for collecting maple syrup but I’m lost after that.
I was in the jungle discord for awhile but I’ve never been a fan of that platform.
I’ll keep an eye out for more options around the fediverse and share them here if something pops up
I was recently having issues with my Roku Premier stuttering on some media. It’s hardwired to the same network as the server.
What fixed it for me was changing the audio output in the main Roku settings to stereo. This Roku use to be setup with a receiver to decode the audio stream but is currently sending audio directly to the TV. I think decoding the audio was too much for the Roku.
I agree, migrating the apes is key. It’s tough to point them in the right direction with all the brigading rules. Are you aware of any other communities popping up outside of Reddit? I like the idea of decentralization but it definitely makes it harder to find all the communities.
It seems the post I was having issues replying to is gone (I’m only on day 3 of Lemmy so maybe I just can’t find it) but I suspect your change fixed the problem
Test reply. I was unable to another post reply from Jerboa. Kept getting a language error
I like the look of both of these but do you know a way to sync them with a PC?
