I had the same issue. I tried enabling ALL languages in the community settings (it’s a mod setting). I originally only had English and French set, so it might have been preventing posts without specifying one of those. Please try again and let me know if it works w/o having to specify a language.
It seems the post I was having issues replying to is gone (I’m only on day 3 of Lemmy so maybe I just can’t find it) but I suspect your change fixed the problem
Cool, thanks for verifying. The language setting in the community config has no equivalent AFAIK in reddit’s sub config, so I had no idea what it did. I guess without them all allowed, posters must choose a language when submitting a comment.
