My only gripe is that it only works on mobile, so I can’t have all my settings shared with my laptop. Otherwise, it’s nearly flawless and the premium is cheap as hell.
I don’t really keep up with social movements, so my take might be outdated. Anyway, I always preferred to be called queen cause it was the first word I heard used to describe people like me, and it just felt more natural that trying to memorize all those complicated sub-labels people like to use.
I’m guessing it just depends on the person / area
SethranKadato Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What acronyms are you annoyed to see take on other meanings?English4·2 months agoLol, i can’t think of PoE as anything but Power over Ethernet.
I have a galaxy z fold 3. It worked great for the first couple years, then problems started cropping up. Right around when the warranty ended, the inner screen became nonfunctional and the screen on the front started fracturing. The outer screen is too narrow for a lot of apps, and the inner one is too large for most apps to adapt. I highly recommend staying away from these types of devices. Also, Samsung is proving to be an incredibly frustrating company. For my next phone Ill be getting one of those repairable open source phones and putting Gnome on it.
SethranKadato LibreWolf @lemmy.ml•Since I've been mostly using #LibreWolf and Tor Browser @torproject anyway, and almost never plain #Firefox, it wasn't a big deal to say goodbye and to delete Firefox from all devicesEnglish3·3 months agoLibrewolf does, though you have to enable it first. Work fine for me. Never really had an issue with it.
SethranKadato Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What are some tech products that you want that you can't seem to find?English141·4 months agoA IP68 e-ink Linux phone with both wireless charging and induction charging (to charge other devices), no cameras at all, solar panel on the back, usb-4 and headphone jack, 1TB storage , 15’000 mAh battery, two separate WiFi cards (to allow simultaneous hotspot and client use), and finally a radio transiever for both short range comms and long range AM and FM radio.
Technically possible with current technology, but as far as I can tell, completely unavailable in the consumer market.
Price, size and weight are irrelevant for all usecasses of such a product, as far as I’m concerned.
Its the more accurate word for what everyone else calls “AI”. It means Large Language Model, and is generally preferred due to the deceptive nature of the word AI
Completely agree. I’ll never pay for entertainment, with the sole exception of videogames and the rare content creator I want to support. Everything else, I’ll do everything in my power to have offline and backuped so I never lose access.
SethranKadato Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Please help resolve a disagreement in our homeEnglish3·6 months agoHuh, that’s very insightful! I’ll be using that on my own junk drawer
SethranKadato Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•How much do you pay for your phone plan, what do you get in return and in which country?English2·6 months ago35GB, $46.78, Canada - Saskatchewan I get unlimited textand calls, 5G networking, Caller display, and voicemail.
SethranKadato Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Which podcast player do you use for android?English5·6 months agoSame. I genuenly can’t thing of a single issue I’ve ever had with it.
SethranKadato Food Crimes - Offenses against nutrition@midwest.social•Frozen Pizza Spaghetti Sauce - Ordinary SausageEnglish5·7 months agoLol, “You can up your spaghetti game by mixing in a… Um… A full pizza with it.” Honestly suprized that would taste good at all, but then again that’s basically just alphredo sauce cooked in a different mannor.
Not entirely sure yet. I do know that whatever I get, I’ll be installing Linux on it instead of android. I might try out one of those de-googled android copies, but I’m not sure.
I’ve got my eye on the rugged survival phone market though. They seem to have different priorities than everyone else, and it seems to really improve the quality of the phones. I haven’t yet found anything that exactly matches my personal requirements though, and most of them are unpopular enough that Linux support is unlikely to ever happen.
Overall, I’ll probobly have to settle for something less than optimal.
SethranKadato Boost For Lemmy@lemmy.world•For some reason scrolling through the comments on this post crashes me back to the home screenEnglish2·9 months agoWorks for me, but the app does lag like crazy when the comment with the images is loaded.
SethranKadato Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Have you ever disabled adblock for a well made site? If so, on what site?English4·10 months agoThe only times I do so are when they only run in-house adds. RoyalRoad is an example, they run advertisements for creators that use their platform, and its useful to find content you might enjoy.
Other than that though? Nothing. I have so many layers of add filtering that basically nothing gets through.
To be fair, the budget isn’t so much a question of “how much I have”, but rather a question of “how long am I willing to save up”
The 3K figure I used in my post was based on the relative price of similar systems I’d found online that “mostly” for the bill of what I was looking for.
Systems that actually had the kind of CPU I was looking for often ran in the range of 7K, which would take me about two to three years to save up for.
And while yes, I was looking in the wrong catagory, as far as I can tell they don’t sell non-NAS systems. I wasn’t able the find a single example of a server designed for CPU tasks until I posted here and was recommended the Minisforum MS-01. Which is, admittedly, overkill in the extreme, but at least I won’t have to upgrade for a long while, and I only have to save up for 3 or 4 months to afford it!
Yeah, the Minisforum Ms-01 was suggested a lot, and as far as I can tell, its nearly perfect. After reading thtough the comments on this post, I’m planning on buying one or two on a few months.
I’m a bit concerned about the risks associated with having storage and compute on the same device, but I can always get a regular nas for storage later.
Librewolf. It does everything i need, and nothing i don’t. It doesn’t have bloatware or adware, and it respects my privacy. That’s all I care about, besides that it can still do everything I need a browser to do.
