Always love these portrayals of aircraft and spaceships … the interiors are enormous and the decks are built and designed like giant office buildings with tons of room to drive a small car through.
The thing is that despite all that, the volume these sets and their extrapolations imply is still leaves vast amounts of empty space in the ships of Star Trek.
If you build it in orbit, then why not?
