What is one of your favorite treats or snacks to eat?
You know, that one your really looking forward to later. That savory one. Or perhaps, that sweet one!? Maybe it’s something you make rather than buy from the market.

I really enjoy Clancy’s Hot Chili Lime Potato Chips. Sadly, I don’t think it exists anymore. Maybe I was the only one eating them. 🤣
This post is really me fishing for what other people find interesting because I need a new thing. 💜
cashews for me. I can eat them for my whole life
Yes! Cashews are the best!
Any favorite seasonings? Just a bit of salt? Plain?
Cucumber (or chips) and hummus
Hummus 🤤
Andy’s Frozen Custard. I’m lactose intolerant but I can somehow tolerate (albeit being super gassy) up to a medium size serving from Andy’s.
No doubt you’ve tested your body’s frozen custard tolerance. 🤤 Some things are worth it. ⚖️
Made: Inarizushi. I use extra seasoned vinegar and over stuff them with rice.
Packaged: Dehydrated bananas. I always end up eating through them super quick when I get them. Unsulfured dried figs are a close second.
Sprouts has a rolled chili lime tortilla chip that’s pretty good, but I have no idea how it compares to Clancy’s.
inarizushi looks sooooo good.
I’ve never had any form of banana chip that is good, but the savory platano chips (plantain) are so wonderful.
As for chili lime, I’ve tried some tortilla ones that are okay. Also had kettle cooked, but didn’t really like that. The traditional style potato chip by Clancy’s was perfect. I tried the Lays version, but it’s legitimately terrible.
The bananas aren’t chips, they’re whole bananas. They’re kinda soft but chewy and combine into a lump that one can be pulled away from. They’re sweet with some extra dark notes in the flavor, too.

Woah! I’ve never seen that before!
It’s far more common in the US now, but I remember being really pleased when I discovered Dot’s Pretzels when they were pretty uncommon. The powder on them is messy but delicious.

Ah. It sounds like Hershey bought them and built up greatly-scaled-up production elsewhere. Used to be a little company, and I had to mail-order them. That’d explain why they’re everywhere now.

The brand was founded by Dorothy Henke who began making them at her winter residence in Goodyear, Arizona, and then later in a factory at her hometown in Velva, North Dakota.[2] In 2012, she appeared at Pride of Dakota.[3]
The company was acquired for $1.2 billion in 2021 by Hershey[4] and was added to Hershey’s existing portfolio of snack foods which included Pirate’s Booty and SkinnyPop.[5][6]
In 2023, the main factory in Velva was closed and the employees were laid off.[7] Todd Scott, of Hershey, said in an interview “due to the physical limitations of the building and cost associated with the Velva facility, it has led us to the hard decision to cease operations and close the facility. Our goal is to ensure everyone is supported during this period of change.” They offered relocation plans to the employees.[8]
EDIT: Inspired by that, I just grabbed some at the store and discovered that apparently there are even store brand clones out there now.
EDIT2: Which are less messy but IMHO don’t taste as good.
Ooh. These look fun. My partner just heard of them a few days ago, actually.
A nice blue cheese with some apricot marmalade on top.
Now that sounds really interesting.
It is. It’s often my lunch, as everyone in the household hate the smell, and I WFH. So while everyone is out of the house I enjoy it while I can.
Treasuring the quiet moments. 😁
Nutella on graham crackers
“you are so smart! nutella of graham crackers! i’m gonna do that now” - my ten year old
Also good on pretzels

Almond Joys minis. They are utterly terrible, but I can polish off a bag of them in an hour.
🙃
