I hate this.
I have seen worse, but not many, and only from things like car crashes.
Mind you, I didn’t do anything with radiography professionally, but I did see a lot over the years anyway. Part of that is looking at crazy xrays online though, so it’s still a really nasty one.
Fuck, I can’t even call that broken. It’s shattered, demolished.

She is a competitive skier and had a had injury recently and the doctor is sharing x-rays of the injury. Recovery from this type of injury is very hard because of how separated the bones are. It is hard to get them to actually knit together so you often need to use wire or screws to connect the bones and it often is only partially successful, requiring second or more surgeries to set things in place again. I had a much more minor injury which required two surgeries because the muscles in my hand were not held correctly due to the compromised bone and dislocated another bone.
Must be the curse of competing for the USA under this admin. Hope she gets the titanium and not the iron or aluminium implants.
I hate leg breaks man. Even with hardware it takes forever at that age

The only two broken bones I’ve ever had were hairline fractures/cracks and were THE most painful injuries I hsve ever had. I can not even fathom how bad this kind of break feels.
Competing with a previous injury while not really young anymore: American exceptionalism at its finest - exceptionally stupid.
