You don’t tell your MPs not to say things that most Canadian like and that will help you in the polls.
This is an admission that Candians don’t support their neo-fascist policies and they they are trying to hide their true colours until they come to power.
Can’t say I’m surprised. It’s the CPC’s inability to avoid promoting social conservatism that sunk their ship at the last election. Media continuing to ask questions about what they will support or not support, or bills they may advance is very important to ensure everyone is aware of what a good chunk of the CPC party is pushing for.
CPC loves fascism
Except when it’s hillbillies and needles.
I see someone’s dusted off the Harper playbook. Let’s see if they can catch this pig to put lipstick on it.
So are the members representing the political party?
Or are members representing the constituents that elected them?
I thought we were running a democratic system of government here

These days, if you are not voting for an independent, you’re guaranteed to not have representation.
This is a bullshit, false equivocation.
We are. Being able to cede control to a dictatorial power is a democratic freedom.
You mean … KNOWINGLY being able to cede control to a dictatorial power is a democratic freedom.
Coercing the public and doing things behind complicated legal and political jargon and systems that very few can understand is not an open democratic system.

Fair point and I agree … part of the problem is the apathy of the public and ignorance of the masses

The Canadian governments don’t represent Canada. Canada only cares about the citizens of other nations. We’re just a piggy bank to them.
LOL… time to take your meds bud.
Every Canadian government big action and focus always seems to be on foreign affairs. Constant debates in Ottawa about what is happening around the world. Meanwhile Canadians are drowning in debt, housing costs, food costs, cost of living etc. But Canadian politicians don’t give a shit about that, all they care about are scandals and foreign affairs.
I said take your meds, not go off on another rant about how you think the Government really works, when clearly you have no clue what Government does.
Looks like a little too much honestly leaked out around the Karen Convoy and Crybaby Blockades, and they want to keep their real feelings down until they’re the ones who can wield the stick. I’m NOT interested in seeing their provincial bumbling around vaccines and disaster prep hit the federal scale.
Canadian Conservative Election Strategy. (With a one line foreword from Ont. Pmr. Douglas Ford):
- “Buck a beer, folks!”
- Make various other vague promises and shallow plans.
- Announce feel-good statements with no policy to back it: “We believe in strong Canadian [insert who you’re talking to]”
- Use this to answer any question you don’t want to actually answer.
- “We’ll make the government more efficient by cutting taxes and waste!”
- Talk about the opposition party, their leader and their policies with a scowl, more than about your own policies.
- Shut the extremist MPs and MPPs up, best you can.
- Avoid acknowledging xenophobic movements that form a significant part of the party’s voter base. Don’t disinclude them when talking about vague ideas like “common sense”. ;)
- Wait to announce corporate enrichment schemes, environmental destruction and freedom restricting (for women, transfolk and the poor) policies until after you are elected.
Squinty McProudBoy can’t seem to be able to control his base that he was so proud of. They keep saying things out loud that Squinty wanted to keep quiet until after an election. They are anti-choice anti decency, anti education and their entire platform changes daily depending on whom they are talking to.
Can’t wait to see him herd all those cats for an entire year!
“Better to be thought a bigot than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.” or something like that.
