The [new] owners told customers that they didn’t know about the lifetime subscriptions when they bought VPNSecure, and they cannot honor the purchases.
I’m guessing their legal team consist of a a 19 year old paralegal, or whatever c-suite decided on this did not check with their actual lawyer.
… however, its terms of service names the company “HOLDXB Trading FZCO trading as VPN Secure, IFZA Business Park, Dubai - UAE.”
Aha, yeah they don’t care and the service should be dead to anyone who uses VPN.
I don’t currently use a VPN provider, but when I do, it now won’t be VPNSecure.

To continue providing a secure and high-quality experience for all users, Lifetime Deal accounts have now been deactivated as of April 28th, 2025.
Personally, I find my deactivated accounts generally give a pretty poor continued experience.
This should be paid sovcit style, if they can decide to creatively alter the meaning of words and contracts, we could pay in Monopoly money.
I see the subscription lasted the full lifetime of the subscription!

I had one, actually, by accident. It was part of a software bundle in 2019 for $30 and I mostly got it for a version of CrossOver. Honestly never used the VPN since there were better options available.
How is crossover? I’ve been eyeing it for like 15 years but never actually tried it for various reasons.
It was ok at the time IIRC. Took some finagling and ultimately MacOS updates broke it (needed to pay to upgrade). I honestly don’t know what it’s like today though.
Oh. Yeah. Pay for updates is one of the reasons I didn’t get it. Now I remember.
