It’s something, but I bet he’ll fold like a Lawnchair just like last time
This might be an attempt to extract himself from that embarrassment, in which case he might not fold. On the other hand, it does raise the question of why he wasn’t doing it before now, and what else could he be doing and isn’t?
He’s an embarrassment, no way around it. He’d have to do a full about-face on his enablement if he wanted to salvage his reputation at all, and I don’t see him doing that.
Great idea to start a brand of outdoor furniture called … Schumer Lawnchairs
That sounds like a chair so weak it snaps shut with me sitting in it.
Israel is pissed off that Trump is making deals with Middle East countries……
This is the only reason Schumer cares about this.
A hold! Oh my goodness. So much power.
Oh boy, Chuck Scumer to the rescue! I’m so relieved.
It’s a bit late for attempted shows of strength, chucky cheese.
Do you think Cory Booker is going to talk for a long time again?
That’ll show them.
Ok, Schumer.
You just gotta love it when Trump shows the slightest indication that he might consider doing a good thing* and suddenly everyone decides that that’s too much corruption.
*American Middle East policy is so batshit insane that whatever Qatar wants in exchange for that plane will probably be good for the region.
This is a statement that’s gonna need a Thesis’ worth of citations to defend lol. I’m not convinced Trump had any inkling of good intentions here.
Qatar is bribing Trump for his famous vanity, and the Saudi’s are imperialist thugs who’s word should be taken as de-facto bad-faith. Their conflict with Iran is just two imperialist nations being dipshits destabilizing their neighbors.
I’m not convinced Trump had any inkling of good intentions here.
Trump absolutely doesn’t, but his intentions don’t matter because he’s getting bribed to do as Qatar says.
and the Saudi’s are imperialist thugs who’s word should be taken as de-facto bad-faith.
True but we’re talking about Qatar here, not Saudi Arabia. Qatar is, well, you can just take a scroll through this, but their main actions on the regional stage are supporting domestic opposition to Middle Eastern dictatorships and mediation in peace talks. Also note that, coming almost in tandem with closer American-Gulf state ties were beef between Trump and Netanyahu and the cessation of bombing operations in Yemen, so we’re likely seeing the effects of Gulf influence already. If Trump really likes his new toy, he might even think of leaning on Israel to tone down or stop its genocide in Gaza, which the Gulf states pretty unanimously hate.
