I don’t know if these types of posts are allowed here, but does anyone know any websites or something where I can find a summary of different politicians’ policies, plans, etc.
Most of the stuff I hear through news and social media focuses on personality (which is definitely an important deciding factor), but I want to see what changes they have planned for the country and stuff like that.
I just recently became a citizen and want to make as informed a decision as I can for my first time ever voting.
The électoral compass is a pretty good tool to find out which party you align with the closest. They way it works is you answer questions about economics, social issues, the environment etc, and after they tell you a tough estimate of the party that most closely aligns with your vision
It’s not out yet for this election but it should be soon
Typically parties release policy docs during an election. They’re often costed out, and the Parliamentary Budget Officer will take a look at the costing to see if it’s legit.
News sites often build comparison tools, like this one.
Politicians typically don’t release the platforms before the election, and the expectation is that they may not run on everything they promised before the election.
Thanks, the comparison site looks pretty helpful.
