Summary

Rep. Nancy Mace (R-S.C.) and Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-Texas) clashed during a House Oversight Committee hearing, with Mace asking if Crockett wanted to “take it outside.”

The dispute began over Crockett’s call to reinstate a civil rights subcommittee, disbanded by Republicans in 2023.

Mace criticized Democrats and referenced anti-trans legislation, prompting Crockett to accuse her of exploiting the issue for campaign fundraising.

The spat escalated to social media, where Crockett labeled Mace an “attention seeking loser.”

Mace later clarified she only sought a private discussion, not a physical altercation.

How’s she going to fight with an arm in a sling from, what was it? Oh yeah a hand shake.

They’re the most tough wieners I’ve ever had the displeasure of reading about…

We need to make dueling legal but only for federal elected representatives. There wouldn’t be a MAGA politician alive within a month.

I also would like to see some more congressional fisticuffs, they may be nicer to each other after the go for a few rounds and a couple concussions may help their decision making abilities. /s

Wow, Americans have turned their government into a circus.

I want to make something clear. Between Gerrymandering, the amount of political advertising, the overwhelming power of “lobbying” (see, legal bribes), and outright propaganda being touted as news, the American people have the smallest control over their government than ever. This is the government our oligarchs chose, one that wastes as much time doing nothing in order to let the rich rob our collective coffers.

It’s sadly been like this for a while now. If you listen to one politician (whose name escapes me but would often do “one-on-one” YouTube videos of what was happening as an elected official) he says that most of these outbursts are performances put on when they are filmed for the public. When the sessions are closed they are much less “animated”. I’m going to see if I could find the video.

      Edit

I’m sorry. A quick search was unable to yield anything for me. Perhaps someone else had his name.

Yes, because when name-calling escalates you typically want to do it in private at a more convenient time.
