It actually is; I’ve seen the cops come up and request that someone stop screaming in public. They didn’t get in trouble but they also weren’t permitted to continue.
There’s often public disturbance/disturbing the peace charges they can apply if they really want to press the issue too :/
Yeah. You can technically get charged for it, but mostly unless you really do something argumentative, the cops will just tell you to cut it out instead of giving charges.
I once watched a guy draw 3 separate citations in a row for disorderly conduct, 1-2-3, because he would not stop arguing with the police sergeant after either of the first two. It was sort of like “Godspeed you magnificent bastard” but also, dude, just calm down and walk away; you may be making a point in your own mind but all you are accomplishing is costing yourself money.
Beat me to it.
This one hits different if you or someone in your family has a mental disability. People 100% will call the cops on them.
Ever heard of public disturbance? Scream anywhere enough and eventually you’ll find out.
Is this my husband’s speaking voice? 🫴🦋
You married “SHE DROVE ME HERE!” Craig?
Hah! Billy Eichner’esque Craig outbursts about nonsense are definitely more my thing, when I’m not quietly nonstop mumbling about something, but we both definitely have “I don’t understand my sound volume” energy. Periodically, “I don’t care about about how loud I am, the world is on fire” energy.
Is this my wife’s “on the phone” voice?
Yeah but its fucking annoying, I cringe everytime some teenagers find it funny to throw a fit for no reason when I just want to buy groceries in peace
Can’t say I’ve ever seen a teenager do it, just little kids and full grown adults.
Can I just buy groceries in peace without some egocentric person screaming my ears out, please?
You can do this for a limited amount of time before cops will be called, you will be trespassed, you can’t return without getting arrested. Also, if you don’t listen to the cops and leave, you’re going to jail.
Or possibly getting shot, tazed, or beaten up.
Based off the comments, I guess this is only permissible if you’re an opossum…to which it’s obvious that our friend ickplant is in fact an awesome opossum so this post makes sense. 😆
