  • I’ve been using Ombi for a while now.

It’s an http web app that can run in a container or bare metal, that interfaces nicely with plex/emby/jellyfin, the arrs, and a number of different notification platforms (I just use smtp). Users can be created directly in Ombi, or automatically imported from plex/emby/jellyfin (auth is then handled by the respective service so users use the same credentials for both).

Users can request new content within specified daily/weekly/monthly limits, view the status of their requests, and report issues with existing content. Requests will be sent to an admin for approval, or individual users can have ‘auto approve’ enabled for movies, episodes, and/or music. It also provides a nice ‘discover’ page listing a bunch of genres to look through along with ‘popular’, ‘trending’, and ‘upcoming’ lists of shows/movies.

  • They want it to be known, otherwise there wouldn’t be fail codes output to the OBDII port…

That’s only there because it’s required by law since 1996, and only a small subset of those codes are actually standardized/required. Many of them are specific to vehicle manufacturer and are only known to the public due to leaked documentation.

Auto corporations don’t want you to easily have diagnostic info beyond the most basic things (tire pressure for example), they want you to bring it back to them. They don’t profit off you fixing it yourself.

    *read receipts

The device will receive the message and send the received receipt regardless of the user (unless they have airplane mode on, or the device off entirely). It won’t send read receipts until the message is actually viewed though.

Personally, I turn these off completely. You’ll get a response when I’m available and feel like it; I don’t like people feeling like they’re being ignored just because I’m busy, or not ready to reply. I also find it kind of creepy having my phone report to others what I’m doing/have done.

  • could someone actually hide their way out of something like this?

If you mean the resulting failure to attend/contempt of court charges:

It would very much depend on the totality of the circumstances. If the defendant is genuinely unaware of the case against them, they aren’t really hiding from anything. The court has simply been unable to locate their suspect.

When/if the defendant is eventually located; it would be up to the court to determine if they had been sufficiently notified, and they’d have opportunity defend themselves by explaining where they’ve been and why the court hadn’t been able to notify them.

If you mean hide your way out of whatever the original charge that had you summoned to court was, then no; you’re just delaying the inevitable and potentially risking further charges. or you’re just permanently fleeing to a country that doesn’t extradite to where ever you’re from…
