‘‘‘F— Biden’ is great. That’s my favorite,” Dooner added wistfully, pointing to a bumper sticker featuring the phrase. “Maybe we can make one: F— Kamala and F— You For Voting for Her.”

    Everyone is brainstorming.

I’m not sure that really qualifies as brainstorming.

I am not American, but this “Let’s Go Brandon” or “Dark Brandon” stuff gives me a sense of cognitive dissonance.

That being said I only have a vague understanding of these memes.

I an American and planned to vote for Biden because trump is terrifying. I’m happily planning on voting for Harris.

The let’s go Brandon stuff kind of made sense because house and senate rules are strict about insulting or criticising other members of congress or the president. So it was a thing they could say in congress without breaking the rules. (Note they can say whatever they want outside of congress. )

There is a similar tradition where honourable or esteemed are actually used as insults and never a complement. So when a senator says “The honourable senator from [some state]” you can read that as ”The shitbag [senators name]”.

To be honest the Dark Brandon stuff always seemed a bit tryhard. More of a desperate attempt to own the insult.
