Alone? At one point he was living with his wife and daughter and the woman carrying his son

There’s a lot of trauma, but he was almost never alone. Even when his wife was away, he spent all his time with Julian. And he made sure he got the good quarters.

So you think after a few years teaching at the academy, his wife and kids move out and all he has left are his students?

Yeah that probably tracks. Those students probably don’t give him the respect he deserves either, and he probably hates not being out in the field.

Nah. I like to think after both you and your wife have been possessed by malicious aliens (on separate occasions), you end up staying together. Then again, what do I know? I’ve never been married.

Also he’s so good with the younger engineers on DS9 I think even at the academy the kids would respect and look up to him.

I dunno. He has a lot of load that can get in the way, and the trauma of abandoning a child that never existed can disrupt a marriage.

Well yea, it hard to trap your enemies in the pattern buffer when you’re a prof- Transporter sound

“But fear not, for you will find the love of your life. Hmm… oh my. The trauma will only get worse.”
