I’m wondering if a package manager like flatpak comes with any drawback or negatives. Since it just works on basically any distro. Why isn’t this just the default? It seems very convenient.

I’ve had it happen with a few apps. They distribute the binaries with the version number in the filename, so on updates, it changes the file name.
it’s fucking stupid way of versioning things.
