Israel is just bombing everybody in their neighborhood now, aren’t they?

So what will happen if the international court finds them guilty of genocide, and their allies stop sending weapons and munitions? They’ll be surrounded by very angry nations who will want them to disappear after what they did.

Israel has been bombing Iranian targets outside of Iran for a while though. It’s largely the reason they try to keep positive relations with Russia - to be able to continue bombing Russia aligned nations: https://www.nytimes.com/2022/03/23/us/politics/pegasus-israel-ukraine-russia.html

It’s “just” a continuation of the Israel-Iran proxy war which has been going on for some time. I don’t think this is a meaningful, if any escalation.

After Ilearned that Netanyahu publicly rejected a pathway towards Palestinian statehood I sent am email to my representatives to cut foreign aid to Israel. I recommend others do the same. I’m so fucking sick of it.

They are not our allies, they are just a convenient chihuahua dog that occasionally barks at the right people so we give them money for it.

Israel spends more money bipartsianaly bribing congress yearly than russia has ever. If you vote for either D or R, you are voting for that to continue.

Yeah true, but most people that read my comment can send an email literally right now. It takes no effort. And a lot of them do read it.

those are some big assumptions. You may as well ask what would happen if the US declares Israel a terrorist state and then sends 1000 cruise missiles to assassinate all the Kismet leaders+their families. It would stop the genocide, but it also will never happen.

“They’ll be surrounded by very angry nations who will want them to disappear”

That is a pre-existing condition to Oct 7th. It is why they will continue to be supplied with weapons for defensive purposes, even if reduced on the offensive front.

No government wants Israel to not have traditional defenses. They are a potential nuclear threat.

Israel is estimated as of a few years ago to have about 1/3rd the amount of nuclear weapons of China. Now it is only about 1/5th, but that is only because China is rapidly building a nuclear arsenal; pre-covid they had about 300-350 nukes, 2 years ago they had 400, now China is up to 500. Estimated to have 1500 nukes in ~10 years.

I’m not trying to talk about China, more put on the scale that their tiny country has a massive nuclear capability in comparison to such a large country as China in modern times. In an existential threat, I wouldn’t be surprised about them using them, as they are the only country in that area of the world potentially with a nuclear arsenal.

This is more informational for those that do not know that Israel is considered a nuclear power:

So is the world at war now? Like, so many countries are getting bombed now, but no one’s declaring war. So what IS an act of war these days?

Actually sending ground troops instead of doing airstrikes and missile launches without needing to cross the border.

These are all still mostly tit for tat strikes, nothing big.

Only Gaza is getting properly bombed and actively invaded so that would be a war.

Nothing big just a little bombing other nations. Imagine if I could simply blow up parts of my neighbors yard because I don’t like what he’s doing, but I couldn’t be arrested unless I actually stepped in his yard. They give me that right and then I’ll accept bombing isn’t war.

You have a naive understanding of world politics. There is no “police department” that can “arrest” Israel for bombing their neighbors yard.
