    The US doesn’t want to switch to renewables for national security reasons. Funnily enough, national security is also a big reason why China DOES want to switch to renewables.

      If you’re going to make a claim, support it.

      Edit: this might have been a little hostile, and for that I apologize. However, substantiating claims with evidence is also common courtesy.

        Not OP: likely referring to the fact their empire is built on the petrodollar. OCC has a great video on fossil fascism that goes into more detail.

        China has remarkably low oil reserves for a country of it’s size. One of the biggest consumers of oil are automobiles… Which is why China is simultaneously developing EVs at a breakneck pace and developing the necessary power generation tech to support a massive increase in electricity demand.

          Could you elaborate on why the same renewables strategy works for China’s energy security but would not work to provide energy security for the USA?
