One important advantage the Fediverse has over commercial platforms is that it’s not commerically driven. Companies like Twitter need to show constant growth to their investors to continue receiving funding.
On the other hand, Fediverse simply needs a critical mass of users to be sustainable. As long as there are enough people to do development and to produce content to keep it engaging, it doesn’t need to keep constantly growing. This allows the Fediverse to operate on much larger timescales. Companies like Twitter will come and go, while the Fediverse will be around growing steadily.
It’s time for the fediverse!
