Yeah, there’s a pretty deep well of great man of history threads in his stuff, and violating the rights of others for their own good. Inception has people hacking into other people’s minds and manipulating them for financial gain. Interstellar has NASA being the all knowing elites with the foresight to save human existence, but letting everyone else die, all while keeping knowledge of the plan out of reach of the masses. Haven’t really seen his other stuff though, I would still like to for the cinematography and action. It’s such a shame that the cool and fun stuff that he does is packaged with such insidious bullshit.

Pretty well put together essay. I didn’t realize just how fash Nolan was till years after I saw the trilogy. Still enjoyed the story telling tho. I have yet to see the Joker though, seems pretty based. The psychoanalytic stuff was kind of shocking to me, I feel like I’ve seen the destruction vs creation thing play out in so many people’s lives I’ve seen. I tend to drive very conservatively when it comes to acceleration. I have a hybrid and I love getting 50-60mpg, plus I find that my slow acceleration often makes it so I don’t get caught at red lights; all the while people who punch it end up hurrying up only to wait.
