Check out my speech .
Someone from libreplanet deliberately sabotaged it by placing my video exactly on important part of the slides. According to a fellow named Devin Ulibarri, it is a “technical error” and they deeply apologize for it. How thoughtful! The content is still good and you should get the point.
Very interesting.
The issue I find with Clojure is it’s link to JVM.
VMs are always mostly controlled by the data centre hardware which hosts it. I don’t find it secure. Ideally, I think C without pointers and an import system like python would be best. I guess Go is it but Go doesn’t have good compilers. gccgo is gigantic. In my view, C without pointers with python like import system with a compiler like tcc would be best. All modules should be present as packages of OS rather than pip so that all trust is given to OS instead of repos which anyone can insert malware in.
Clojure is incredible. But something like tcc should be made straight from clojure to binary. JVM is absolutely unacceptable!
Above is a post I wrote a while ago. Check it out.
That’s an interesting link. But in my view, that’s just 1 variable. eg. Python is written in C so on lower level, it would be in C code and it isn’t python. A better way is to see it from lines of code to binary which is a complete conversion.
I’m a major in Physics. It’s interesting but currently, I think, it wouldn’t make any difference whether the universe created itself or 1000 universes merged into 1 or whatever. I would live for maximum 100 years and humankind for maybe few thousand years. It doesn’t really matter!
Also, the current quantum electrodynamics, which is the front of proven theoretical physics is quite difficult to understand!
There are so many such theories M theory , a superset of String theory, I guess there’s Twistor theory, and so many more! Theory of expanding universe also depends just on red shift of very far away light.
Everyone here is most welcome to my talk on libreplanet which would occur in a couple of days, Survival of Free Software
Here in India, each and everything is packaged in plastic. It’s a huge shame! There are many things which don’t need to be even packaged but still they’ll be packaged in plastic.
Plastic’s manufacturing price is immensely low. Also, “recyclable” plastic is seen as eco-friendly which is not. “Recycled” plastic is eco-friendly today.
There’s a huge need to disallow all new plastic, and have immense R&D on recycled materials and force public back to using reusable instead of use and throw things.
I prefer scientific journalism. I need some proper document or some video. I don’t trust Aftab Ahmed, Manoj Kumar and Krishna Das. As far as I know, India already has bought cheap oil when last oil prices went down in covid. India bought futures then. Also, Mukesh Ambani, an Indian investor has quite some stake in Aramco. Ofc, it can be but not over words of some people whose job is to print such stories. I prefer being uncertain.
They certainly can. However, solar panels are best used where sunlight is ample. Since a car goes through shady areas too, it’s efficiency isn’t much. It is way less compared to what power a car needs. Solar power plants have perpendicular sunlight for most amount of time and also reflectors (mirrors) are used to increase the amount of light that falls on those solar cells. Also, they’d be incredibly inefficient in polar regions. In equatorial regions, if they’re cheap, installing on rooftop of a car can be thought about if their weight is lesser or comparable than the metal on top of car. If their weight is more than that of normal metal, more petrol will be used which would be worse.
This shows progress in a bit more detail. We’re not rewriting a majority of bsd kernel. What do you think is strange about free software? Free software prevents misuse of software by allowing user complete control. In my view, it is absolutely necessary!

What archtorify does is it sets up iptables and a systemd service so that everything goes by default through tor. Installation shown in wiki.

I personally use tutanota but it relies too much on JS and a really important feature in email, search sucks!
Asking to drop their IG isn’t practical. IG posts earn them money. PixelFed posts don’t. We can ask them to post on both IG and PixelFed. Cross posting bot is good for those who allow to clone their posts in PixelFed. Anyone with many followers, not just hot women!
Above solutions are still forced solutions. People aren’t naturally coming towards such platforms. Random ads aren’t problematic, targeted ones are!
Root solution to this will come from creating earning opportunities on free software platforms. And earning opportunity can be created once atleast the hosts of these platforms are above survival conditions. We all know about feneas.
Thanks @atomicshrimp@lemmy.ml . Yeah, it’s a good idea, but what can one do if there are around 30 people who believe that PixelFed is a better platform and not even 1 takes action for something they themselves believe in! We need better incentives. Like money from ads, hot influencers, dinners with actors, 30 mins online chat opportunities with say someone like Luke Smith or so on!
We need easiest user experience and compatibility of free software with capitalism. I’ve written an article and a new free sofware license on this which would come out soon. Making free software compatible with capitalism.
Ideas work if people co-operate. In capitalism, people co-operate only for money. That’s the whole point of utilitarianism and equating money with utility.
Why are you creating such a scenario? Power exploits just travel from more powerful (people who have something at the moment) to the less powerful (people who want something). Power changes from moment to moment. Why would you assume that next person who walks in will get a better experience. You’re just increasing frustration in people. You’re the source of that.
I’m highly anti HRs.
It’s obviously better than GitHub. But between Gogs and Gitea, I think Gogs has more than enough features and using Gogs, you trust 1 person, whereas with Gitea, responsibility lies nowhere. Also, in such community projects, people never remove code, they just keep adding code which is a disaster!
I personally like cgit and stagit more than above 2 but Gogs lies at appropriate junction between ease of use, UX and features.
