They have absolutely bullet proof reliability. The engines are in an extremely stable point right now and on top of that Red Bull have such a huge margin over the other teams in terms of race pace they aren’t even pushing that hard. I think it’s very likely they win out the rest of the season. I’d be happy to eat my words but I don’t think I will. I think the only hope we have is another sprint weekend setup mistake. Though I think this year they would just break Parc Ferme and win from the back.

Being located in Western Canada I just won’t wake up at 6am everyday on the weekend to watch sessions. I often don’t watch the sessions until Saturday and Sunday evenings and I rarely ever have things spoiled for me. I have Formula 1 instances blocked on my main Lemmy account and a specific account only subbed to F1 stuff so it’s really easy to manage with Lemmy. All my browsers have stupid news feeds turned off and I have the advantage of not using other social media. Onus is definitely on the person trying to avoid spoilers.

  • I’m in the same boat. I hate jumping into a race if I’m not confident enough on the track, so I end up spending most of my available time (very limited right now due to work and house renos) learning the track and studying my data to try and improve so I’m able to set consistent and decent lap times. I know as soon as I can lap the track without binning it I should jump into races but I definitely struggle getting over that hurdle. I’m racing the F4 fixed right now. My goal this season is to just really learn the car the best I can on all of the tracks this season in practice sessions so next season I’ve got a good baseline to jump in with and can start jumping into the races nice and early in the week. (unless it’s Spa, Interlagos or Brands Hatch, I know those tracks like the back of my hand).
