Its a new season and a new place to talk about iracing! What is everyone’s plans? I have been racing ir04 for the last few season so I’ve decided to switch it up and try gt4 in the Merc. Its taking some getting used to the much bigger vehicle and I keep instinctively pressing my tear off button but I’m having a lot of fun

Hard time deciding what to race as there are so many nice series. I’ll probably rotate between GT legends, Lmp3/GT4, F3, Indy pro 2000, GT4, and maybe a little of the new Caddy. Every season i decide i will complete a full season in a single class but i just can’t make up my mind since i love driving all the cars i own. Downside is that practice takes longer and quiet often i don’t actually race at all because i don’t master the car/track combo well enough to my liking. Practice/trackday simulation is nice too sometimes i guess.

I’m in the same boat. I hate jumping into a race if I’m not confident enough on the track, so I end up spending most of my available time (very limited right now due to work and house renos) learning the track and studying my data to try and improve so I’m able to set consistent and decent lap times. I know as soon as I can lap the track without binning it I should jump into races but I definitely struggle getting over that hurdle. I’m racing the F4 fixed right now. My goal this season is to just really learn the car the best I can on all of the tracks this season in practice sessions so next season I’ve got a good baseline to jump in with and can start jumping into the races nice and early in the week. (unless it’s Spa, Interlagos or Brands Hatch, I know those tracks like the back of my hand).

So far nothing since my rig is in pieces

I’ll probably go back to the FR3.5 and LMP2 in IMSA once my rig is back together

I want to get into the gt4’s really bad but want to test drive them first, just need to find the time. I’m on an oval kick as of recent (past season and this season) I think I’m going to stick to the gen4 cup mostly and cup/xfinity series with a bit of the ir18 mixed in for fun. It’s my first season with the gen 4 and I’m having a blast on Michigan this week I’m not the best road racer, maybe next season I’ll work more on the GR86 and then spring for the gt4 if I can improve

I can’t figure out how to drive the Cayman. I will think I have it figured out and then just massively understeer with no real idea why.

GR86, formula Ford, maybe the occasional TCR or Miata race. Just depends on what’s available that week to me and what I feel like. I gave up the grind.

It may not be a consistency issue; it may literally be you are used to downforce cars OR front-engine-RWD cars. Do some practice sessions on the test track and see if you can feel the difference. :)

I am very used to front engine RWD cars in game and IRL so that piques my interest. I’ll definitely give it another go and keep the weight distribution in mind – Thanks!

I can’t pull myself away from GT3, the ferrari is such a fun car to drive. I might treat myself this season with the new porsche 992 maybe. Kinda been waiting on fanatec profiles from Maurice for it, seemingly though all the GT3 profiles are basically the same.

Im surprised with all the ‘older’/less used tracks in the GT3 fanatec challenge/GT Sprint series. Along with one new track i’m missing 3 others. I normally only need to buy like 1 or 2 tracks a season, but due to the use of zolder, philip island and daytona (all of which are super rarely used in road) i’m now a bit stuck. Maybe i need to look at another series this season. But after driving GT3 its hard rolling back to GT4. Maybe LMP3 is the go? again… i’d have to buy this lol

    My favourites have been:

    -Road: F3, IndyPro 2000, USF 2000

-Oval: NASCAR (usually Class C Trucks), Dallara iR-18

My brother reached Class B road this season, so we plan on trying out the LMP2 Fixed.

So, I own the USF 2000 and the IndyPro 2000. I think the F4 is better in almost every way that the USF2000; however, I have yet to actually run a race with the IndyPro. I’d really like to hit Class B road soon so I can dry out the iR-18 road series.
