    I shudder thinking about getting a targeted ad while playing VR. The whole development of VR and Facebook’s purchase of Oculus makes a lot more sense now that I think about it. They want to immerse you deeper in entertainment so they can immerse you in advertisement.
    It certainly feels like every innovation in the private sector lately has been purely for the purpose of making data collection, advertisement, and monetary transactions easier and more effective.

    £200 + facebook acc + invasive ads < waiting for 5-7 years for cheaper hardware, and for current headsets get cheaper

      Used HTC Vive are still good and quite cheap. The problem is the GPU to run one.

    I really hope facebook won’t manage to kill mobile vr. It’s such a cool thing but they are so adamant on trying to kill it.
